CVS Community
Residency Program
The first CVS store
opened in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1963, under the name “Consumer Value
Store”. Today, CVS/pharmacy is the largest drugstore company in the
United States operating more than 5,400 stores in 36 states and
the District of Columbia. CVS/pharmacies serve three million customers
each day and fill over 250 million prescriptions per year.
CVS/pharmacy has designed
a 12-month Community Pharmacy Residency that provides a unique
opportunity for a resident to participate in the design, implementation
and expansion of health education programs including the CVS Community
Outreach Program. Primarily focused on the role of a community
pharmacist as a public educator, the resident will also assist in the
development of pharmacist education programs that address the special
communication skills necessary for counseling patients.
